Ringed Plover

A dainty bird of the shore, particularly the shingle beach, which it haunts the whole summer through. The chicks can run almost as soon as they hatch, and there is no prettier nestling.

In autumn, flocks of Ringed Plover can be seen about the shore in the company of other waders.
